CKO Kickboxing

The New Kid in Town Needed to Make His Presence Known

The noise of competition

CKO Kickboxing is a well-known chain of cardio kickboxing gyms from New York. But this was their first franchise attempt in South Florida. They chose a great location in the heart of Brickell just south of Downtown, Miami, but they needed people to know they were there. Their task tough. Miami is home to dozens of well-known and established boxing gyms. Thankfully, CKO was aggressive with their social media marketing and were hungry for content. They were smart. Smart people make my job easier.

I created a long, vanity piece to live on the homepage of their website to give prospective clients an emotional, first-hand experience of the tough but loving family environment their fees entitled them to. We used the actual trainers to talk about the classes and the benefits of the cardio workouts, and testimonials from real clients to glow about the transformative benefits the classes and the camaraderie blessed their lives with. Add in some dynamic kickboxing action, even the laziest couch potato will be inspired to sign up and take a class. And in case you’re wondering, the first one is free.

I also shot a variety of derivative videos from the terabytes of footage I shot and created special, social media ads around specific events or causes the gym was promoting. The benefit of shooting a copious amount of B-Roll is that it can be repurposed for future content and can make budgeting a bit easier as future shoots might only require a half-day of interviews or soundbites since the b-roll has already been shot.
