Vans Off The Wall

Made in collaboration with the boys at Colada Management: Gabe Sanchez, Alex Veliz & James Livingston

From Concept to Execution…

It all begins with an idea. We wanted to create a dynamic skateboarding ad with vintage 80s skate scene vibes while taking advantage of the many traditional skate spots in Miami’s urban core all while leading up to the brand new, state-of-the-art Lot 11 skatepark that had just been opened to the public under the I-95 overpass.

From there it was off to the races: Script, storyboard, location scouting, finding the perfect skaters, racing against the light on the shoot while enduring brutal heat and sore muscles that come from chasing world-class skaters with heavy gimbals.

This project was done on a shoestring budget and is a testament to the power of teamwork and creativity when confronted with obstacles and challenges.

Video production is a collaborative art, and the results achieved together will always surpass what one person can do alone. It requires collective disposal of ego in service to the art.
